Young Women's Leadership Conference

Applying for college can be daunting.

Gone are the days of filling out a simple form, mailing it off, and hoping for the best. There are resumes, letters of recommendation, interviews, scholarship applications and more. Our young people are faced with the task of assembling an impressive portfolio of their high school careers earlier and earlier in the admissions and scholarship application process. 

To help in the process, Junior League Harlingen has developed the Young Women's Leadership Conference. This half day conference gives girls a chance to sharpen their skills before sending off their college applications or submitting portfolios for scholarships. Our own members, with the help of community partners, work in small groups with young women attending the conference to proof read resumes, work on actual applications, and give advice on interviews and professional dress.
